B50 Frontier took part in the contest “Public Perspective: Transparent Government and Active Community”
In 2024, the B50 Frontier NGO took part in the city contest “Public Perspective: Transparent Government and Active Community” organised by the Department of Public Communications of the Kyiv City State Administration. The competition supported 40 initiatives aimed at developing civil society. Among them, the application of our organisation, namely the volunteer team of the Mistresses of Camouflage, was supported.

As part of this project, the team held three workshops on making camouflage nets in the summer. Anyone could learn and get involved, as we wanted to scale this project, motivate people of different ages, professions and interests to join this type of volunteering, and most importantly, create a lot of camouflage nets for our Defence Forces.

Thanks to the funding received from the grant, 27 rolls of high-quality spandbond and 6 coils of special netting were purchased for the production of camouflage nets at our volunteer events.
This material, in various shapes and colours, has already been transformed into square metres of camouflage nets created by our experienced volunteers and students at workshops and volunteer events. The workshops, called the Camouflage Workshop, were held in Sviatoshyn district in June, July and August.

The training took place at the Svichado Library Centre. Our experienced volunteers taught and demonstrated all the features of this craft, told about the importance of this type of volunteering and, of course, let the newcomers try their hand at it. At the Camouflage Workshop, not only adults but also teenagers learned what camouflage nets are made of and how to cut spandbond. The nets woven by the visitors of the workshops were immediately sent to our defenders!
We are pleased to promote this type of volunteering and to involve new volunteers in the team supporting the Defence Forces.

A brief report on the project and its results can be found below (in Ukrainian).

We are grateful to the Department of Public Communications of the Kyiv City State Administration and the Svichado Centre for the opportunity to hold this event and support our initiative, as well as to the Humanitarian Nova Poshta for free delivery of materials for making nets and finished products to our defenders.
